The Difference Between...

What are the differences in Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator? Photoshop is used to edit pixel-based images such as photographs or scanned images. These files are saved in the .PSD native format. You can easily edit and alter photos. If you want to remove a blemish or red eye, add text, and add layers all these options are possible when using Photoshop.

            InDesign used to create and organize layouts. These layouts can be used in print for magazines, newsletters or any publication. InDesign is good for large amounts of type and text. Files are saved in the .ID native format.

            Illustrator is a vector-based program. You can use illustrator to create any type of flat artwork. Things like letterhead, logos, and signs are easily created using the program.

            You can seamlessly move through the three programs and create a design using all three features. They are all used to create a type of graphic design and this can be achieved separately or together. Each program has similar tools and workspace so it is easy to get use to. The shortcuts are the same throughout the Adobe suite. Use these programs to create any layout or graphic design you can image!

Lesson 16

The “Got Milk” ads have been very popular. We see them on billboards and in magazine ads. I view them as a type of lifestyle ad. They are telling the public to be healthy and take care of your body by drinking milk. Each celebrity that appears in an ad tells why they drink milk and how it helps their lifestyle. This is an example of informing the public. I think milk ads are still being used because they headline “Got Milk?” is catchy. They are visually pleasing by including celebrities and public figures. The line and visual combine the message by having the celebrity pose with a milk mustache. There is little clutter, good balance, and use of text. 

Graduation

Graduation is May 14th! I am very excited but it is nerve racking at the same time... there is so much to get done before now and then...
